Description
Bio-active HC is a specialised concentrated biological treatment for degrading grease in waste water systems. The product contains natural bacterial strains which digest fats, oils and greases (FOGs) and other organic matter through their enzymatic metabolism.
Safety
Bio-active HC should be handled under good housekeeping practices. Product contains naturally occurring non-pathogenic bacterial cultures. Wash hands after use. Keep away from drinking water and foodstuffs. Product is non-flammable, biodegradable, non toxic and when used as directed is completely safe. For best results store product in a cool, dry place.

Application Scope
Fat digestion
Fats, oils and greases are composed of triglycerides, and bacteria break down such compounds in two stages. The bacteria in Bio-active HC have been carefully selected to carry out this two-stage reaction. Firstly, the molecule is broken down into glycerol and free fatty acids using the microbial enzyme lipase. This is followed by the breakdown of free fatty acids into smaller, soluble molecules using specialist enzyme pathways. Hence FOG levels are dramatically reduced.
Improved free-flow in drain lines
The biological breakdown of FOGs is an irreversible process. Hence trapped grease levels are reduced in situ and not transferred downstream, reducing the incidence of blockages and the need for grease trap pumping.
Effective odour reduction
Odour formation is reduced due to the product bacteria inhibiting the production of hydrogen sulphide and from the effective breakdown of volatile fatty acids that may be produced in septic or anaerobic environments.
Complete digestion of solids
The secretion of amylase, cellulase, lipase and protease enzymes by the product bacteria results in the effective break down of all the organic components of waste associated with the drain environment.
Reduction in BOD levels
Reduction in BOD levels in turn reduces sewage costs.
